Privacy Policy

This policy explains what the current version of Kite Tune stores on your device and what information may reach other services when you browse or play live radio.

Last updated: October 11, 2026

Who we are

Kite Tune is a live radio app provided by KiteApps. In this policy, “we” and “our” refer to KiteApps as the app developer. Kite Tune does not require an account.

Information handled on your device

Kite Tune saves a station catalog so you can browse it locally. The app also stores your favorites, play counts, recently played stations, listening sessions (station, start time, and duration), total listening time, and daily app data-usage estimates in local app storage. It caches recommended station IDs and your device time-zone ID to avoid unnecessary repeat requests.

For the data-usage chart, Kite Tune reads Android network byte counters for this app and saves estimated daily totals locally. It does not inspect the traffic of other apps. These figures are estimates, not carrier billing records.

The current version does not ask for your name, email address, contacts, precise location, or an advertising ID. It does not include an ad SDK or a third-party analytics SDK. Your local listening history and usage charts are not uploaded to a KiteApps analytics account or server by the app.

Kite Tune may request Android notification permission so it can show media controls while radio plays in the background. The foreground media service helps playback continue when the app is not visible.

Online services and other parties

The app needs internet access to download station information and play streams. The following connections occur as you use its features:

As with ordinary internet connections, these services may receive technical connection information such as your IP address and request details. They may process and retain that information under their own policies. KiteApps does not control their servers or logging practices. The app does not send its locally saved favorites, listening sessions, or usage charts to these services as part of these requests.

Security and data handling

Local data is kept in Android's app storage, which is protected by the device's app sandbox. Catalog and recommendation requests use HTTPS. Radio streams and artwork come from independent providers; some may use unencrypted HTTP, depending on the URLs they supply. Avoid using an untrusted network if that concerns you.

Android may include Kite Tune app data in a device or cloud backup if backup is enabled on your device. Backup handling and retention are controlled by Android and your backup provider. No internet service or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.

Retention, choices, and deletion

The local station catalog, favorites, history, listening records, and usage estimates remain on your device until you clear Kite Tune's app storage in Android Settings or uninstall the app. Refreshing the catalog updates station listings without intentionally deleting your favorites or listening history. You can stop playback at any time, and you can manage notification permission in Android Settings.

Clearing app storage or uninstalling removes the app's local data from that device. A previously created Android backup may still exist under your backup provider's retention rules and may be restored if you reinstall the app. Kite Tune has no user account or server-side listening profile for us to delete.

We cannot remove connection logs held independently by broadcasters, image hosts, Streema, or other network providers. Please refer to their policies and contact them directly about their records.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page when Kite Tune's features or data practices change. The date at the top will show the latest revision. Material changes will be reflected in the app and in the Google Play Data safety disclosures as appropriate.
