🔒 Zero Data Collection Promise: FTP Node does not collect, record, track, transmit, or monetize any personal information, files, browsing habits, or device telemetry. All file transfers occur directly peer-to-peer on your local network.

1. Overview and Core Philosophy

FTP Node: Server & Client ("we", "our", or "the application") is engineered as a privacy-first utility. The app provides two independent capabilities:

FTP Server Node: Allows other authorized devices on your local Wi-Fi or hotspot network (such as PCs, Macs, or other smartphones) to access designated directories on your device.
FTP Client Engine: Connects to your configured remote FTP or FTPS servers to browse, download, and upload files.

We believe that your personal data and files belong entirely to you. The application contains no advertisements, no tracking SDKs, no cloud intermediaries, and no analytical instrumentation.

2. Data Collection and Usage

The application strictly handles data locally on your device:

Personal Information: We do not ask for, collect, or store personal identifiers such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, contacts, or location data.
File Contents: Files you host or transfer are streamed directly between client and server via direct TCP sockets over your local network or target server. No file data is ever relayed through or stored on external servers operated by us.
FTP Bookmarks & Credentials: Hostnames, IP addresses, ports, usernames, and passwords for remote connections are stored exclusively on your device in private Android DataStore storage. They never leave your physical device.
Activity Logs: The real-time connection log shown on the Server screen is maintained solely in transient device memory (RAM) for session debugging and is wiped when the server stops or when you tap "Clear".

3. Android Permissions and Why They Are Needed

To perform file transfer and server operations compliant with modern Android standards (including Android 14 through Android 17), the app requests specific permissions. Here is transparently why each permission is required:

`INTERNET` `ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE` `ACCESS_WIFI_STATE`	Required to establish local TCP/IP sockets for FTP connections, detect Wi-Fi connection state, and determine the device's local LAN IP address (e.g., `192.168.x.x`) so you know where to connect from your PC.
`ACCESS_LOCAL_NETWORK` (Android 17 / API 37+)	Mandated by Android 17 local network privacy architecture to allow apps to discover and bind to local network sockets within your home or office Wi-Fi subnet.
`MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE` / Scoped Storage	Allows you to expose selected storage folders or SD cards via the FTP server and save downloaded files directly to your device storage. Files are only accessed when explicitly initiated by you.
`FOREGROUND_SERVICE` `FOREGROUND_SERVICE_DATA_SYNC`	Ensures the FTP Server service and active transfer queues remain running smoothly without being terminated by the operating system when the screen locks or when multitasking.
`POST_NOTIFICATIONS`	Used to display the ongoing persistent notification with server status, active connections, live upload/download speeds, and an instant "Stop Server" control button.
`WAKE_LOCK`	Prevents the device's CPU and Wi-Fi interface from entering sleep/doze mode during large file transfers when the "Keep Device Awake" toggle is enabled.

4. Third-Party Services and Analytics

FTP Node does not integrate with any third-party analytics services (e.g., Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel) or advertising networks. We do not sell, rent, or trade your data to third parties under any circumstances.

5. Security of Your Connections

While operating as an FTP Server on your local network:

You can protect access by enabling Credentials Mode with a custom username and strong password.
You can toggle Read-Only Mode to prevent connected clients from modifying or deleting existing files.
FTP Node strictly encloses paths to the selected root directory, preventing directory traversal (..) attacks outside the folder you chose to share.
For remote client connections, the app supports FTPS (FTP over TLS/SSL) for encrypted communications over the public Internet.

6. Children's Privacy

The application does not address or knowingly collect data from children under the age of 13. Since no personal data is collected from any user, we fully comply with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and GDPR-K.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically if new features require changes in permission requirements. Any modifications will be posted here with an updated "Last Updated" timestamp.
